As we state on our website, we have closed our general forum as it takes up a lot of staff time to monitor. We need to use this staff time to develop other parts of the website.
For instance, we are looking at having BSL video clips on our website. We are also looking at developing an area on our website for RNID members, where they can get in touch with one another and find out if there are any other members in their local area.
To answer your other points:
We have left the tinnitus forum and products and equipment forums open as these take less staff time to monitor.
Your suggestion ”to ban the users who are the route of the trouble”: We have banned forum users who have breached the forum terms and conditions in the past. However these users are able to find a way to log onto the forum again.
You also say you don’t want to join any of the forums we have listed. You could set up your own web blog and encourage users to post messages.
You have received some information about joining RNID, as a member. You write that you will not be paying any money until you can see where this is going. You can find out where membership and donor money goes by reading our impact report and our annual report and financial statements which are on our website.

RNID have taken the decision to close the general forum on the website.
As part of our ongoing development of the website we have reviewed the forums and taken the decision to close the general forum. This is because it is used by a small number of users but takes up a lot of staff time to monitor. We need to use this staff time to develop other parts of the website.
